Walking for Health

Walking for Health

At a recent meeting of the Pathways committee, Bess, Dave, Ken and Peter decided to retire from organising the Walks for Health. We have been doing it for 10 years now and yes, the last 16 months have caused a rethink and reset for us all. So Cronton Pathways Walks for Health will no longer exist.

Thank you to all the walk leaders for all their support and all the walkers and 'tea ladies' for their company and enthusiasm over the last 10 years. We know a lot of people have now got into the habit of walking and that is a great legacy from the group. Thank you too to John at Holy Family Club for hosting us.

If you still wish to walk with a group of people, there is a small group who have been meeting to start a walk from the Unicorn car park in Cronton on Tuesdays at 1pm, led by Peter Murray. Just turn up ready to go at 1pm; you will be welcome.

Chair-based exercise will be restarting as soon as Jeannie can do it Covid-safely. It will be at the Community Centre on Wednesdays from 2.30 to 3.30pm.

Boccia has not restarted but the ladies who used to play it have begun a cuppa and chat session at Cronton Parish Council office on Hampton Drive every Tuesday from 1pm. Boccia may start up again but it is definitely up to the members of the group as to when/if that happens. If you want some company come and join in the chat session on Tuesdays.

Also, in case you are interested there is a Craft Group which meets in the Parish Council office on Wednesdays between 10 and 12 noon.
